Providing equine assisted therapy for those with physical, mental, or emotional challenges

Programs

Dream Riders of Kentucky has been providing equine assisted therapeutic services to individuals with physical, emotional, and behavioral disabilities since 2003. Riders range in age the very young to the elderly, and benefit from being around the horses, riding the horses, and caring for the horses. The therapeutic benefit of equine assisted therapy spans from increased core muscle strength, balance, and coordination to improved self-esteem, trust, empowerment, and patience. Equine assisted therapy is used not only with the traditionally disabled population, but with special needs groups such as Veterans, PSTD patients, and victims of domestic abuse.
